We arrived at 11am with a banner and leaflets to educate
the shoppers in Barnham about the Furry Friends petshop. The village itself
is very quiet but we still managed to distribute over 100 leaflets to
the public over the hours we were there. Many people honked their horns
and waved in support, and passers by vowed to boycott the shop until Mr
Porter stops selling animals.
Just like the previous week, business was not great for Furry Friends,
with very few sales, and then some of them were sympathy purchases from
Mr Porters friends.
We are calling on Mr Porter to stop selling and breeding animals from
his shop. We put it to him that he
can still earn his living by expanding his range of pet care products,
and we ask the public to visit animal shelters if they want to take care
of an animal. It makes no sense for Mr Porter to breed endless supplies
of animals when there are so many who have been abandoned and are awaiting
new homes.
If you would like to join our regular peaceful protests, please contact
us.
